The new cast of characters elude to the deeper levels becoming exposed. A few get a fair amount of page time to start their journeys. As more comes to light about Dr. Alderman, the world of Annalise becomes thrown into a chaotic state. This leads into a thrilling part of the book.

Seeing Annalise and her robot navigate through intruders provides glimpses of a dark future. There are no punches pulled. Rosenberg sprinkles in some fun moments to keep things leveled out. It cushions the blow of Annalise’s dire discovery. This throws everything into a frantic state. Readers watch as there is more heart aching moments adding up on the young 13 year old. When the smoke clears, the closing pages lead into another unstable path. A new threat stands before readers to welcome them to the next phase of this ever-engaging tale.

Landini and Wordie open up with a jarring full page image. The aftermath of the initial attack makes an immediate impact on readers. This is followed up with a special grid panel set-up for new characters. It brings out the best of their conversation, pushing Dante’s fallout higher. Their close ups tease the many personalities now involved. It is brief but provides a steady gap to regroup on Annalise and company.

The brutality of the situation never is held back. Readers watch as the robot handles would be assailants with no remorse. Annalise’s reactions vary in the midst of searching for her father. A close up of her crying eyes speaks louder than any dialogue when the time hits. The escape from the island is capped off with a half page image. This jumpstarts events into the closing pages. The ending shot ushers in a new direction and antagonist for Annalise to deal with. Artwork continues to be a strong base for this story to grow from.

The end of Dr. Dante Alderman lands a devastating blow onto his daughter’s survival in this latest chapter. Rosenberg keeps working the winning combination of drama and danger via the writing. Landini and company give this story show-stealing visuals at every turn. This series carves its’ own niche at the comic shops that simply cannot be ignored.
