Loo tosses in a more personal attack on Rand for this chapter. Bringing back Fat Cobra and company ties back into a very popular lore. Quan Yaozu’s tampering in this world starts making strides. It postions Rand into a unique predicament. Finding his allies proves to be a very uphill battle.

Readers also get the insight on how Rand has returned. Tying in recent stories involving another MCU hero hits the spot. The connection also opens up a few avenues to take the tale post this run. One thing at a time. In the present, it’s great action being woven in the pages. Each blow has a personal spin on it. Once finished, all roads lead to another long awaited appearance. This has been a fun read thus far and shows no signs of dropping off.

Galán and Campbell keep the energy high for this round. There are plenty of fighting sequences to keep fans attention. This is elevated even more when the weapons arrive. Fat Cobra gets a solid panel debut. It doesn’t take long before a truth is unveiled. Neither is the wait on action.

Pacing speeds up as more Weapons take their shot. Bride of 9 Spiders gets an amazing panel intro. Teetering on horror influences, it pops out after Fat Cobra’s drowning attempt. The fighting gets an injection of stellar martial arts strikes. Everything moves very fluidly right to close. The final page does steal the show. Another guest has arrived and fans shouldn’t expect a happy reunion. The art team does another great job with this take.

FINAL GRADE: 8.8

The undead life and times of Danny Rand gets more personal with old allies turned enemies. Loo balances the combat with a slow build. Galán and Campbell deliver on fast action with each page. Taking Iron Fist into uncharted territory breathes new life into an old soul.
