Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I'm going to be reviewing the Spider-Man Holiday Spectacular from Marvel Comics!
It's almost that wonderful time of year! That time where friends & family gather together to celebrate traditions old & new. As it turns out our favorite heroes from the Marvel comic universe are just like us! So let's jump into it!

Spider-Man Holiday Spectacular #1 by Rainbow Rowell (Writer), Luciano Vecchio/Paco Medina/Nathan Stockman/Bob Quinn (Artists), Matt Milla (Color Artist) & VC's Joe Sabino (Letterer) is a great issue to read that will put you in that holiday mood you're so familiar with.
The Story
Things are fairly straightforward in this issue, but that doesn't take away from how much fun the issue is. The story focuses around Spider-Man and trying to find a place to be for the Holidays. You see he normally spends his time with his Aunt May, but she's going to be away this time around.
What follows is a spectacular journey that takes us to see the Fantastic Four, The Avengers & some of the X-Men with plenty of familiar faces making an appearance. I really loved how wholesome the story was, and getting to see just how loved & appreciated Spider-Man was by the other heroes.
The Artwork
The entire creative team did a fantastic job with the artwork throughout the issue. There was a lot going on in the issue in terms of the number of characters at each of the parties. The whole crew did a great job featuring each of the characters and giving them a moment to shine. It also just felt so warm and wholesome & reminded me of years past as a kid. I really loved the artwork from start to finish.

This is an issue that you don't have to be caught up on any of the current Spider-Man, Avengers, X-Men comics to get into. It's a great way to kick off the holiday season & it would make a great gift for that comic book fan in your life this year.
