Story Overview:
Harley and her new roommate Elvira are off to a good start. Elvira is even willing to forgive the fact that her new living conditions aren’t exactly up to par. However, the agreed upon fee has still not been met, and unbeknownst to Elvira, Harley doesn’t have it. But no need to worry as Harley and her gang of Harley’s always have a plan.
This time they will take a job for $300k to bring down the criminal head of the renovation world, Boffa Fungoo. Even Elvira will get brought in for this wacky caper. However, well this is all going down, the past Elvira was coming from is rearing its head again.
Writing:
This issue continues the fun of this wacky series, well adding the setup of the story to come. Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti do an amazing job of building up this fun and crazy crossover story. The fun and lewd jokes hit their mark; well, the greater story that is unfolding makes the reader want more.
The fun action sequences prove that you don’t always have to rely on straight action to get the job down, this is comics you can have fun.
Artwork:
The artwork featured in this issue is exceptional, perfectly portraying the characters as well as their respective worlds. Thanks to the art team, the book truly feels like an authentic crossover rather than just a brief guest appearance.
The character designs are accurate, while the backgrounds are notably impressive. With vivid, warm colors, the visuals add an extra layer of enjoyment to the story.
Final Thoughts
Harley Quinn x Elvira #2 is fun, fun, and more fun! The whole premise is set up to make sure the reader is having the most fun possible. From the lewd jokes to the action, and even the setup for the longer story ahead, all of it is fun.
If you are looking for an insanely fun book that will also scratch that action comic itch, this may be the book and series for you.
