Story Overview:

Ian and Sutton go to question Samantha’s ex and Mason’s ex to see if either could be the one to have summoned the Stain. After chatting with them both, they take their findings back to the Heathen. But before he gives them answers, he asks Sutton more questions mostly to taunt and get under her skin. Ultimately it works as Sutton tells Ian that she can’t continue to do this. She gives Ian her necklace to control the Heathen before returning home. Now Ian finds himself on the trail of the Stain and saving Mason, well Sutton is falling apart with the memories of what happened in the past.

This issue really ramps up the story and the horror surrounding it. Ryan Parrott does a magnificent job with building up the suspense and horror in this story. The interactions between Sutton and the Heathen are unnerving and really make your skin crawl. At the same time the mystery of who summoned the Stain keeps you guessing right up until the reveal that happens at the end of the issue. The more we learn about what happened all those years ago, the creepier and more unsettling the story becomes.
