Talk about a mic drop moment at the end! First, let’s dive into the new stat quo of the Kents. Seeing Lois powered adds a cool dynamic into protecting Metropolis. This starts with a fun classic Superman suit change with a twist. What follows next is prime superhero themes that forever remain timeless.

Using the Atomic Skull as the lead-in villain shows off Lois’s skills. Williamson writes her as a determined hero ready to seize the day. The back and forth between the Kents eases readers into the huge return. Knowing the big bad here, it is a true challenge that Lois showcases a quick range of emotions. Williamson throws a big curve in with the Time Trapper during this point. His appearance leads to the mind-blowing final page. There is no doubt fans will have MUCH to say about this shocking reveal.

DAN MORA. Does anything need to be said after that? The artwork is incredible as always. A fantastic two page splash shows off a horrific future where Superman appears to run out of time. This speeds back to the present where Mora and Sanchez capture the Superman movie feel with vintage Daily Planet panels. This concludes with a fun sequence of costume change rolling into another fantastic two page image.

Action flows at a high speed and never lets the readers go. When you think “Superman”, this issue delivers on it. Another striking two page image welcomes in the true bad to the story. Lois’ reactions are subtle but spike up the drama. At this stage, the story changes lanes into the Trapper close. The chapter finishes its’ time with an unforgettable final full page. There’s no way anyone sees that and doesn’t immediately have a reaction!

The new era in Metropolis kicks off in a monster way. Williamson brings back a deadly foe in a whole new light. With the art of Mora and Sanchez guiding the way, the chapter takes readers on quite the journey. Brace for the final page. It’s a show stopper!
