We are continuing our coverage from New York Comic Con 2023 with a recap of all the news breaking on Day 2. Things have really picked up steam as the weekend is progressing. No matter what you’re fandom is, there is MUCH to talk about. Let’s take a quick spin around the news to know coming from the Javits Center:
The morning kicked off with Comixology Originals announcing new titles hitting the imprint. Leading the pack is the third and final chapter of The All Nighter by Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo. The Supernatural tale has been a fantastic read and looks to finish their story starting on October 31st.
Apple TV had a panel for their new show “Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters” which debuts on the service November 17th. Fans were treated to an airing of the first episode and if you weren’t in attendance, here is a link to the trailer!
DC Comics dropped some major news concerning “Action Comics” that Jason Aaron and John Timms as well as Joshua Williamson along with Rafa Sandoval. They will be replacing Phillip Kennedy Johnson who ends his 3-year run with Action Comics Annual 2023 in December.
Ghost Machine had their formal kick-off Panel with Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok leading the conversation with the company’s founders in tow. This imprint has new series lined up with the goal in mind of making stories with “Characters First” as the motto. Fans were treated to an ashcan on details on the new stories to come as well.
Marvel Spider-Man Gang War was the talk of #MarvelNYCC this year. The battle for New York City has many fan-favorite characters involved and looks very promising after this panel’s conversation. Take a look at the trailer for the year-ending event.
Image Comics had some big news announced with a new series that has a loaded creative team behind it. THE INFERNALS by Noah Gardner, Ryan Parrott and John J. Pearson. The concept is dealing with the legacy of the Anti-Christ should have fans talking in anticipation.
Word broke about a “proof of Concept” trailer involving Rob Liefeld’s Bloodstrike Character of the early Image/Extreme Studio days via Liefled’s Instagram. Expect to hear more from this project as this will be one to keep an eye on.
